Artwork at Kanata Montessori School

Artwork by my students at Kanata Montessori School.
Medieval castles by grades 4, 5 and 6. Watercolour on 140lb cold press Arches paper.

Working on new backgrounds

I started to work on new canvases and it feels good to be back painting! I am enjoying adding layers and layers of paint, some with transparent pigments and some with more opaque ones. The result is always very rich in tones and texture. Once finished, the paintings will for sale on my Etsy shop. These backgrounds needs few more layers before the final design is added.

Bouquet and painting

One of my favourite activity is making bouquet. I find it relaxing. I enjoyed very much choosing flowers and foliage from the garden for their shape, texture and colour.

I sewed the apron I'm wearing on Mother's day. Fabrics from Kaffe Fassett and Cranston

I'm continuing working on illustration #2 for the children's book

Illustrations for a children's book

Besides teaching art workshops in schools in the Ottawa region, I started to illustrate the story for a children's book this winter. My artist friend Stanley wrote the story. It is a fun and challenging work which I enjoy to do. No new painting to show you for a while. I'm just working on the book illustrations.
