Tuesday class: "Under the sea" theme

Yesterday was the last Tuesday class before the Summer. The theme was "Under the sea". Jennifer, Hannah and Megan researched the subject in science books and looked at children books for inspiration. I showed students some of my sea related paintings I had done in the past and explained the techniques I used.

Colour and background

After teaching the workshop on colours last week I had a burst of creative energy. I read "Brave Intuitive Painting" by Flora Bowley and I was really motivated to try new colour combinations. I decided to use some of my 8 x 8 canvases on which I had painted backgrounds a few years ago...

Regarding Flora Bowley's book, the review which reflects best what is the book about (or is not about)  is by Gemma

The chapter on colour is explained with simplicity which is great for beginners.
I decided to keep the book because it gave me inspirations and opened new doors for me.
