Unfortunately, my program is not suitable for children who need behavioural support. The program is designed for students who are interested in the art experience and who can manage in a structured learning environment. We focus for 1 1/2 hours in a calm and respectful environment.
If your child is disruptive to this process, you will be notified within the first day of class. Your child will not be able to continue in the class and I will not be able to refund your money as I will not be able to replace your child's space at that time.
How to register
Call me at (613) 489-3795 or e-mail veronique.stefanica@gmail.com to register. Payment is required to hold your space. No refund.

Embossing metal
New project
on the way for grades 7 and 8 at Kanata Montessori School.
It has been
a long, long time since I worked on embossing metal (Last time was when I was a
teenager growing up in France!). So it is a pleasure to work on it again…

Giraffes by grades 4, 5 and 6.
After shaping the giraffe with newspaper, cardboard, masking tape and wire, students covered it with a thin layer of clay. Students drew the front view, side view and top view of the giraffe in order to plan their design. They then painted the giraffe with acrylic paint.

I had such a great time teaching wire sculpture to grades 7 and 8 at Kanata Montessori school yesterday! This project was perfect for boys (and girls). Students enjoyed manipulating the wire with their hands and a pair of pliers.
Ce projet était parfait pour les garçons (et les filles). Les élèves ont aimé manipuler le fil avec leurs mains et une paire de pinces.
" Main de fer" by grades 7 and 8
Idea from Marie-Claire Idées magazine. See previous post.

Wire sculpture
Today I’m starting to teach grades 7 and 8 at Kanata Montessori School. First project we will do as a warm-up exercise for wire sculpture is “Main de Fer” (French expression meaning a firm authority). This is an idea from Marie-Claire Idées magazine.
Photo 1: Drilling the holes in the wooden base in Charles’ workshop.
Photo 2: First prototype without a wooden base and cutting the wire for the students
Photo 3: “Main de Fer”, finale version

Alexander Calder
One of the sides I enjoy very much about teaching is the
research for a subject and then the experimentation. Alexander Calder's artwork
always fascinated me. Preparing a class inspired by his work for grades 7- 8 at
Kanata Montessori was really fun!
